About StowMyRig & How We Verify
Last updated: October 21, 2026
StowMyRig.com helps you find a place to keep your RV, boat or trailer, with facts you can check yourself. It's run by Matthew MacMillan in Mooresville, NC, near Lake Norman.
Why this site exists
Searching "RV storage near me" brings up sponsored results, regular storage units that won't take a 35-foot rig, and listings that never mention clearance height or whether there's power. RV owners keep asking the same questions on forums. We wanted one place that answers them honestly.
How we verify a listing
For each facility, we check these fields and record a source link and date for each:
- Storage types: open lot, covered, enclosed, indoor, dry stack
- Space sizes, maximum rig length, door or canopy clearance height
- Power (shore or trickle charge), dump station, wash bay
- Security: gate and codes, cameras, fencing, lighting, staff on site
- Access hours. 24/7 video isn't the same as 24/7 access.
- Published price and how it's charged (per foot, per space)
- Waitlist status and lease terms, when published
Our sources, in order of trust
- The facility's own website or rates page
- The operator's official booking page
- City and county RV lot pages
- Neighbor.com listings, for peer-to-peer spaces
- Public map listings, used only to confirm a place exists and its hours
Our rules
- Every page shows a last verified date.
- If we can't confirm something, we say not confirmed. We never guess or estimate prices.
- When sources disagree, we show both.
- We re-check listings about every 90 days, and prices sooner.
- Facilities can't pay to change their facts or ranking (see our affiliate disclosure).
Corrections
Own or manage a facility, or found something wrong? Email matt@themacmillanagency.com with the facility name and a link that shows the correct information. We'll re-verify it and update the date.
